The Rock
A view leading up The Rock around 1900. A tram descends while a variety of carts with horses attached wend their way up and down. On the left is the House and brick building pulled down towards the end of the last century for what is now the Express and Star Training Centre car park.
At the time of the ‘THEN’ photograph there was a bicycle repair and sales business in operation at the premises. Avenue Lodge on the right still exists as can be seen in the ‘NOW”.
On the right is Avenue House Lodge – which still exists and has recently been very sympathetically restored (see also Other Listed Buildings and People of Tettenhall – Thomas Telford).
