What’s the symbol of success when it comes to running a local convenience supermarket?
That’s easy. The answer is Costcutter!
Part of the Symbol Group, the new Newbridge supermarket – full name Costcutter/Video Action – has been extensively refurbished and re-stocked from the days it was called Bargain Booze.
Today the Tettenhall Road supermarket stocks just about everything you can imagine: fresh, frozen and chilled foods, new and old world specialist wines, up to 40 special ales and an extensive range of spirits.
Run by local lad Jamie Lees and his sister Emma, the new supermarket has literally tried to think of everything the local community may ever want in food, drink and video entertainment.
Says Jamie: “There’s also a PayZone for electrical, gas and phone top ups and an ATM for cash withdrawals. We’ve installed an extensive CCTV throughout the supermarket and video shop to improve safety and every day there are milk and bread special offers.”
And he means EVERY DAY! Opening times seven days a week, from the crack of dawn 6 am – 11 pm Monday to Saturday and 7am – 10 am on Sundays.
The nearby Co-Op may claim to be “good with food” but Costcutter, you could argue, aims to be good at so much more!
